Arsenic Dissassembling

Arsenic in its oxidation states III and V, may be in natural water and it constitutes a dangerous pollutant parameter for human health. In the process of purification, arsenic must be removed to levels accepted by the Chilean norm.

To remove the arsenic, you can use the membrane technology, however, as the more traditional method is the precipitation of calcium arsenate or adsorption (complex) on an iron salt.

Open Decanters

Open decanters generally have got a coagulation stage (violent agitation), a stage of flocculation (maturation), and a stage of sedimentation (still water). In the last one the solid-liquid separation occurs.

Open decanters are a type of equipment in which the suspended solids present in the water in the form of cloudiness (insoluble) can be separated. This would generate muds that will finally sediment because of the gravity forces.

The phase which does not sediments will be subsequently removed by filtration (traditional or by pressure)

Descalcalinizadores

The dealkalinisation is to reduce the content of bicarbonates (alkalinity) by adding water (saturation) of calcium. This process ends with the precipitation of calcium carbonate that should settle within a reactor.
